Where does the name "Nishikawa" come from?
"Nishikawa" is a Japanese surname meaning "west river", and it is also the name of the town in Japan where our founder learned the art of making ramen. In naming our shop after Nishikawa, Japan, we honor the town and the ramen master from which our ramen story began.
What is ramen?
Ramen is a Japanese dish consisting of broth and noodles. Our shop features common ramen styles and some of our own creations. Each of our ramens contains a creamy pork broth, stewed for 24 hours, our homemade noodles, a slice of pork chashu (braised pork belly), and a seasoned egg. Toppings vary between each style, so check out our menu for a full list!
Does Nishikawa serve vegetarian/vegan options?
Our regular menu features a vegetarian ramen and our vegetable spring roll appetizer, neither of which contain meat or meat products. Our specials menus change periodically and vary between locations, but they may feature more vegetarian/vegan options as well. Call your location to find out about specials!
Can I order takeout/delivery?
Takeout orders can be taken either in-store or over the phone. Nishikawa does not deliver food directly - we work with services such as Uber, GrubHub, Doordash, PostMates, and Eat24 to bring ramen right to your door. Simply find us on the app of your choice and order! (Note: app services and menu items may vary between locations)
Do I need to make a reservation?
The Chandler location takes reservations for groups of 5-15 people. Reservations are strongly encouraged for large groups, particularly if you plan to dine during our busy hours (weekends at lunchtime: 12-2pm, and dinnertime: 6-8pm). We will try our very best to accommodate your party but we cannot guarantee that large walk-in groups will be seated in a timely manner during our busy hours, so we highly suggest making a reservation if you are bringing a large party. Because of space limitations, we are unable to accommodate groups larger than 15 adults. Reservations must be made at least two hours before the planned reservation time. Reservations can be made by calling (480)-306-6349 or here:
The Phoenix location does not take reservations and seats on a first-come, first-served basis. Be advised that space is limited, particularly during busy hours.
